Educate

Staying current in the latest advances in Information Security is critical to understanding and overcoming the latest security challenges.

DigitalDefence excels at sharing the knowledge and experience that we have gained as incident management practitioners. When you attend one of our training sessions, you immediately take advantage of:

  • Practical experience – Our instructors are also skilled security practitioners. They all have field experience, and use this to ensure that lessons are relevant to the security risks that you face every day.
  • Experienced instructors – DigitalDefence has provided training services to all levels of government, law enforcement and the Canadian Forces, and corporate organizations (Fortune 500, small and medium-sized businesses, and not-for-profit organizations)
  • Strong training methodology – All of our course instructors have been “trained to train”; we ensure that our instructional techniques will be effective in meeting your learning needs
  • Small class sizes – Hands-on practical skills are a primary component of our courses. We ensure that you have the opportunity to learn the skills and practice them until you are confident in your performance. We ensure that our class size and teacher:student ratio supports these goals
  • Cutting-edge material – Our course content is continuously updated, and it reflects present day “real world” situations – we’re ahead of what you’ll find in bookstores or on-line!

DigitalDefence provides educational programs to meet the needs of the diverse Information Security audience, including:

  • 1st Responders Workshop – for management, HR, and technical staff who will be the first to arrive at a security or privacy breach, and need to know exactly what to do to minimize liability and reduce damage to the network
  • Attack and Defence of the Network (“ethical hacking”) – a hands-on technical course designed to teach you to view your network like an attacker does, and then develop and implement the appropriate defences
  • Hands-On Data Forensics for Corporate Investigators – a hands-on course that uses open-source and freely available software to support legal investigations in the workplace
  • Malware Analysis – a technical 3-day workshop that teaches students how to assess malicious software, determine the real extent of the damage that it may have done, and implement a strong defence against it
  • CISSP Preparation Workshop – this 5-day workshop is intended for experienced security practitioners who wish to prepare for the “Gold Standard” in security certifications, and want to improve their chance of successfully completing the 6-hour exam
